I believe that in life you need to allow yourself to do 1000000 multiple, different, multi faceted things. I cringe at the idea of being in a box, and allowing myself to only be defined by 1 identity, 1 title, 1 dimensional box. I love learning tons of different things, and doing tons of things across my life.
I noticed that I prefer to focus on a few things on high intensity at a time, but it doesn't change the fact that if that thing is not high intensity or highly interesting enough - I have to admit I lose interest rather fast.
Here are a few cool things I am so glad I could do in my life so far:
- learned german in 2 years so that i could go to college for free. i was broke af as a child, but as a hustler i decided not to make that stop me: so easy, learned german in a few years. when i was young i was definitely a bit coo coo.
- i speak 5 languages fluently: italian, eng, spanish, portuguese, german + i speak a bit of russian
- i love beautiful things, i played the piano for 10 years - like i was legit, i was so obsessed as a child that i practiced 8 to 10 hours a day and stuff. it's ok, there are worse vices out there lol and love it still so much
- i love surfing, health, performance, and barry's. i learned to surf (longboard) in a gap year, I am not amazing but I am not a total beginner anymore either.
- I started a new vice: barry's, I am kind of hooked now. if you want to hang out with me in nyc, a barry's workout and then shake and walk is the way to go.
I am on a quest to make my life more full, here are some things on my bucket list, hope to get to most of these in the next 100 years:
- swim with whales
- swim with manta rays
- re-connect with my roots in brazil and shoot a documentary about home: the amazon rainforest
- i do not know how to drive yet, I want to learn
- surf longboard waves in lombok and fiji
- build something beautiful. I think that we are living in a famine of beauty, and humans need beauty.
- build something useful: something like a paper cup, that people don't even notice they are using, but they are
- build something that marries profits/capitalism with sustainability: my love for surfing completely reshaped my consumer behaviour around plastic etc etc. but i wonder how this issue could be made easy for a consumer via the invisible hand
life is a gift, a blessing, and a journey
hope to post here and on the web more about how this bucket list comes along
